Over the years, yoga has become a popular standby in gyms and fitness centers across the U.S. What began as an ancient art is now a mainstream regimen that many busy, modern individuals have adopted to help them feel more centered and empowered in a hectic world.
The Deseret News reports that more than 15.8 million Americans practice yoga on a regular basis, and the number is continuing to grow.
"In the last couple of years, my class numbers have quadrupled," said instructor Jenny Liddiard, quoted by the news source. "There are so many exercise fads cropping up out there, but the really cool thing about yoga is that it's classic and it's been around a long time. It's on the rise, but I don't think it will become a fad."
The exercise has been incorporated by countless individuals hoping to reforge their mind-body connection and discover inner peace amidst the hubbub of a fast-paced world. Not only do meditative techniques and relaxation encourage better mindfulness and tranquility, but they can also improve flexibility and health.
Those who choose to practice meditative methods – such as Dahn Yoga exercises – may be well on their way to improving energy flow and relieving stress.
